Questions pastors ask us
Does ChurchSight store our video in the cloud?
No. ChurchSight does not use a public cloud for video. Raw video, face images, and embeddings are processed and stored on redundant AI servers ChurchSight owns and physically controls at our own facility, and only aggregate metrics reach your dashboard.
Does it work with Planning Center?
Yes. ChurchSight connects to Planning Center Services and Check-Ins to show scheduled volunteers by team and position and children's check-ins alongside attendance, with source freshness always visible.
What cameras does it use?
A PTZ camera mounted above the stage counts the congregation in the room, and door cameras cover your entrances. ChurchSight works with approved local cameras through vendor adapters; the initial supported path is UniFi Protect. Cameras run only during the service windows you define.
Do members need to consent or opt out?
Attendance counting is anonymous — it produces totals, not identities — so no individual consent is required. Notices posted at your entrances state that entering the building implies consent to photo and video capture. Any identity feature is separate and stays off unless your jurisdiction permits it and you explicitly enable it.
Is this legal in our state?
ChurchSight maintains a dated policy research inventory covering all 50 states and DC, plus local overlays. Each capability is explicitly marked available, opt-in, notice-required, or prohibited for your site's jurisdiction. We still recommend reviewing with your own counsel.
